time to blog about my vacation...the more interesting parts :)
day1: reached airport at 6.15pm then started waiting to check in. but due to lots of confusion, we somehow tiringly queue until like almost 8pm, which is when our flight is supposed to take off -.-' we became the last ones to board lol. but was quite cool i guess, then they were like using walky talkies to report our arrival so they can take off etcetc XD
day2: reached syndey airport, adjusted clock 3 hours in front, and waited like 2hours+ for my eldest sis to fly over there from melbourne zzz
we then took a taxi all the way to their city there to our booked hotel which is just opposite syndey's famous hyde park. the taxi fare was like A$50? so scary la. went up 5cents every SECOND. LOL.
then took the city rail all the way to the syndey harbour and opera house there to have fun. the train is TWO STOREYS. cool la. first time see b4.
day3: nthg much happened, basically my dad got a rented car from Hertz and we went to the city aqararium. so damn cool can. especially the sharks and sting rays are freaking enormous.
day4: had to wake early to drive over to blue mountains. we stayed in a cottage that night, its really well furnished and even had parrots flying around the backyard. so damn cold thou cause i didnt switch on heating when i bathe. shivered like a dog.
headed over to the blue mountains scenic world, which used to be a coal mine, after 'checking in' at the cottage with the owner, where there was like a few main things to do, namely forest trekking, up down mountain cable car, 55degress vertical railway (kinda like a rollar coaster haha), and also a scenic cable car thingy with a glass bottom to look at the view below.
-the most interesting thing was a warning sign at the railway place, which asks u to keep ur arms in, saying 'limbs are hard to replace' XDD
ended the day by driving to lookouts. the blue mountains range is astounding. seriously.
day5: headed to canberra, the capital. our schedule was slightly disrupted when our car was stuck at the Telstra Tower after our visit (the view up there was really nice too, but as usual, damn cold), which is some kinda of telecomms tower and disrupted the bluetooth security function of our car and rendered it unable to start. tried lots of stuff but in the end had to wait for the tow truck to tow the car out of the vincity of the tower signals.
spent the afternoon at DFO (direct factory outlets) in canberra, whereby me and my dad who more or less dislike shopping, just sat by one side and had some father-son moments. lol -.-'
day6: headed off to snowy mountains, which is the highest mountain range in australia, and spent most of the day travelling. reached there quite late and our hotel was by a really big and beautiful lake. ate chinese restaurant for dinner...nothing much...
day7: went over to Threadbo, which is part of the mountains range, where we took a chairlife up till where the elevation was like almost 1.9km above sea level, then started walking up the path up towards Mount Kosciuszko's summit, which is the highest in australia of like 2.2km. obviously my family didnt make it to the top as they were aiming for the lookout only, which is like already 6km walk (to and back) from the chairlife station. the summit would be like 14km?
koped and drank some of the mountain water on the way...refreshing and cooling =)
there were still bunches of ice on the tops of the mountains even thou its summer.
day8: spent the entire day driving towards melbourne...which is like 300+km away. blah. reached there late in the evening and met my aunt's family and i used the net muhaha.
-early in the morning it started drizzling slightly and it NEVER stopped for the whole day -.-' i was like wth.
day9: basically travelling around melbourne and shopping at DFO (again) in melbourne. nothing much...move on...went to a good german restaurant for lunch thou, quite cool and the waiter/waitress dressed up so nice la. their costumes very cool.
-whole day drizzling AGAIN.
day10: was really tired already. but excited la. can go home liao today. basically just travelling towards the airport in the morning by the beach. quite far away north of the city. then. as we were driving through the city. met with accident. -.-
minor one, fortunately. and our car is fully insured. 3 cars collided at the traffic lights as the last car somehow started driving too fast and banged into the car in the middle, which then of cos collided into the rear of our car. quite distratrous. zzz ah shrugs. at least no one was hurt. shant try to describe the accident i guess. blah. the flight home was very smooth thou :)
